Function of the measurement technology

Pressure, volume flow and temperature measurements are carried out within both areas, hydraulics and pneumatics. Calibrated sensors on the measuring devices record the data, transfer it to workstations and thus enable it to be evaluated. A distinction is made between hand-held measuring devices and stationary devices. Complete systems can be used in all areas of industry, mobile hydraulics or pneumatics, in repair processes and in service.

By measuring hydraulic and pneumatic variables and the resulting data processing, the basis for any troubleshooting is created. The modern aids are therefore essential tools for a service technician in the operational process. Multifunctional measuring devices enable the simultaneous measurement and evaluation of differential pressures, pressure peaks, cylinder strokes, temperature, speed and flow changes.

Designs and procedures in measurement technology

There are often mobile devices that enable measurement data to be recorded with the highest level of accuracy and are also easy to use within an industrial system. Digital pressure gauges are used to measure pressures and display them with millibar precision. The device reliably detects pressure peaks within a 10-millisecond sampling, even at multiple measuring points. Data transmission to workstations is now carried out wirelessly over distances of usually up to 50 meters, which in many cases saves the need for an embedded workstation in the system and is therefore a more cost-effective and at the same time safer solution. The associated software allows convenient monitoring, evaluation and archiving of data from the PC in the operations office. The sensors used here are designed for the requirements of a highly polluted environment (temperature, vibration, dirt).

For measurements in hydraulics or with hydraulic processes, diagnostic testing devices and flow condition monitoring are also included, with which the status of systems and individual machines can be permanently monitored. An important pneumatics method is pneumatic level measurement (bubble method), which works with hydrostatic measuring methods. This cost-effective and simple method enables flow and level measurement, for example in open containers for interface and density measurements, by bubbling compressed air and alternatively nitrogen into the liquid using a plastic measuring line.
